From Stories to STEAM
The "Little Trumpet" story time, a renowned children's program from China National Radio that began in the 1950s, has evolved through the efforts of fifty dedicated volunteers from diverse fields. This expansion integrates the beloved stories into all areas of STEAM, aiming to spark children's interest in these subjects. The initiative has successfully engaged over 2,000 local families in the Bay Area, supported by major public libraries, and hosted hundreds of significant Chinese story events between September 2018 and March 2020. The innovative "from story to STEAM" concept represents the beginning of this transformative journey.
